The villa

Villa Beyaz sits on the hillside above Yalıkavak, in a garden of old olive trees. Its white, cubic volumes are a nod to the traditional houses of the peninsula, opened up with wide glass doors so that inside and outside run into each other.

Daily life happens around the long pool. On one side is the living room, with its plastered arches and timber ceiling; on the other, a shaded dining terrace and an outdoor kitchen made for slow lunches and long dinners.

Each of the four bedrooms has its own bathroom. Two open straight onto the garden; the other two are upstairs, looking out over the olive trees.

It is a house that suits a family with older children as well as two couples travelling together: generous shared spaces, and enough distance between the bedrooms to find a quiet corner.

The setting

Yalıkavak lies on the north-west of the peninsula, known for its marina, its old windmills on the ridge and a relaxed waterfront lined with restaurants. The village, beaches and marina are an easy drive from the villa; Bodrum town is on the other side of the peninsula.
