The villa

Villa Akşam — akşam means evening — was designed around the sunset. The house faces west near Gümüşlük, and every evening the light turns gold across the terrace.

The architecture is pared back: stone, plaster and timber in quiet tones, with a narrow infinity pool that seems to run into the sea. Inside, a low lounge looks out through tall windows.

Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, open onto the garden. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, though most evenings end at the table on the sunset terrace.

It suits couples and friends travelling together who value calm design, good light and an early-evening swim.

The setting

Gümüşlük is a fishing village on the western tip of the peninsula, known for its waterfront fish restaurants, its sunsets and the remains of ancient Myndos around the bay.
